When our second child arrived, we knew we would eventually have to extend our house or move elsewhere. We like our street and didn’t want to move but construction of an extension seemed daunting.
Lisa and Ronan showed us what was possible and helped make it a reality. It wasn’t just the architectural side. They dealt with the planning permission, building control, structural engineers and all the other technical details that we hadn’t even known about. They were always available to us and kept in constant touch with the builders to keep the project on track. Our rundown little two bed semi is now a beautiful modern home fit for our growing family. From beginning to end we found Ronan and Lisa to be extremely helpful and accommodating and always answered any queries promptly. They liaised with the builder and all other contractors for us and I can honestly say that we didn’t have one day of stress during the whole extension build (most of which was during lockdown!)

We bought the property in 2014. We always wanted something with more of a traditional rural feel, individuality and charm but we knew it would need some work to get it to where we wanted. We had chatted and received initial concept drawings from a number of architects, but they never really hit the spot. We spoke to StudioPARK back in 2020 and chatted through what we wanted – more space, a better functioning kitchen, well insulated, sustainable, a structure that complimented the existing building and one that is difficult to age. Quite a list, we were fussy clients!
StudioPARK came back with two options, both of which flipped all our previous design thoughts, and they brought something extra to the design. It must be relatively easy to listen to a client saying we want A, B and C and produce a plan providing A, B and C. However, StudioPARK were able to say; well, have you considered this, or what about that - that bit of extra expertise which justifies spending time finding the correct architect. Things like the vaulted ceiling, an additional window in the existing gable wall, and a lot of insulation really added to the finished building.
Another bonus was that StudioPARK also project managed the build. Glad we included this. Covid hit at the start of the build and the building supply chains were hit with interruptions and inflation. This had knock-on effects to the delivery time and budget, and we are pretty sure that without StudioPARK’s involvement, there would have been quite a few difficult conversations with the contractors.
We are loving the new space. The entire house works better, adding to the charm that attracted us to the house in the first place.
